FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
In this prestigious fellowship program, Carleton graduate students conduct pioneering wireless communications research and receive feedback and advice from their academic supervisors and Ericsson professionals. They are fully supported to focus on their research during their graduate studies without teaching responsibilities. This is Carleton’s pre-eminent talent-building program.

Soroush Javdan
Soroush is a Ph.D. student in the School of Computer Science at Carleton University. He is currently working under the supervision of Dr. Olga Baysal. Soroush's research focuses on leveraging Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing techniques.
Soroush's project involves utilizing Large Language Models to recommend resolved bug reports based on system observations when new issues arise. His primary objective is to reduce the computational requirements for fine-tuning existing models by applying a lightweight fine-tuning approach while maintaining optimal performance levels.
Prior to beginning his current research journey, Soroush participated in an internship with Ericsson where he focused on Online Micro-Service Based Anomaly Detection.
I wish to thank both Ericsson Canada and Carleton University for the opportunity to develop my academic and professional career as an Ericsson Fellow. I am proud of the research I’ve conducted under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Atia, focusing on mmWave Beam Selection for 5G Networks. I am also grateful for the support I’ve received from Ericsson experts, including Sandra Ballarte, Aroosh Elahi, Gary Boudreau and Hatem Abou-Zeid. Having graduated from Carleton, I can say with confidence that my positive experience as an Ericsson Fellow positioned Ericsson as an employer of choice, and my journey with the company continues as a permanent employee in the Cloud RAN group.
