Former Ericsson Fellow Maryam Havakeshian presented at Carleton University's Breakthrough Breakfast 2025

To celebrate International Women's Day, Carleton University's Faculty of Engineering and Design welcomed WiE&IT Program partners, donors and long time supports to their annual Breakthrough Breakfast event. Attendees heard from two graduate-level women researchers and students from the WiE&IT Program about the value of closing the gender gap and building a strong university to workforce pipeline.

I’m deeply grateful for the Ericsson–Carleton partnership, which has provided invaluable opportunities throughout my PhD journey—from being honored as an Ericsson Fellow, to applying my research on Gen AI and semantic understanding to streamline 5G software testing, sharing these insights with engaged industry audiences, and joining Ericsson as an AI Data Scientist. Each step has shaped my professional path, and I truly appreciate the support and encouragement that have helped me grow, contribute, and turn academic discovery into real-world solutions.
